Hello! My name is Katie Gorton. I’m a student passionate about the internet for the good of society and raising awareness about how unjust current policies concerning the internet are. I hope to help make the internet into an accurate representation of what people really want and stand for, and I believe the best way to do this is by drawing much-needed attention to the controversies surrounding the net and bringing transparency to these topics.
That’s why I decided to create this blog. I’m hopeful that this site will be able to attract readers who are concerned about what’s taking place in the online world and interested in making a change to these policies. I’ve been fascinated by the social and political issues online such as surveillance, privacy, student privacy, etc. for a couple of years, and I want to share the advice I’ve gathered, interesting topics in these areas, and other resources, so those intrigued can have a place to start. When I first discovered these topics, I had no idea how I could become involved, and I want this blog to change that for those who yearn to contribute.
So, I’m excited to share what I know and what I’m still learning with all of you!
